Toshkovski: Migration challenges require joint solutions, partnerships, and concrete support

The Minister of Interior, Pançe Toshkovski, addressed attendees today during the High Representatives’ Meeting component of the Prague Process. This dialogue, which is convening in Skopje over the course of today and tomorrow, focuses specifically on comprehensive strategies for migration management. The meeting brings together diverse stakeholders, including representatives from member states, various international organizations, and partner institutions actively involved in the domains of migration and asylum procedures.

During his address, Minister Toshkovski underscored that the issue of migration should not be treated as an abstract political concept. Instead, he stressed that it represents a tangible reality impacting states, institutions, and the daily lives of citizens. “Migration is a reality that we feel at our borders, in our communities, and in people’s lives,” stated the Minister.

Minister Toshkovski further elaborated on the practical challenges inherent in modern mobility patterns. He noted that the experience of Macedonia has demonstrated a clear correlation between effective governance and resource allocation. Specifically, he highlighted that successful migration management necessitates sustained and continuous investment in human resources across all relevant sectors.

The discussion at the meeting aims to synthesize these national experiences into actionable frameworks to better manage cross-border movements and uphold institutional stability.
