Kosovo’s exports increase by 15.7 percent, but the trade deficit reaches 544 million euros

The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) has released its official data detailing the import and export flows for the month of May 2026. According to the agency’s announcement, the foreign trade data for goods in Kosovo indicated a widening trade deficit when compared to the same period in 2025. Specifically, the trade deficit increased by 4.0 percent in May 2026.

The total deficit reached €544.4 million, up from €523.4 million recorded in 2025. A key finding noted by the ASK is that the total value of exports covered imports by 14.7 percent. Detailed figures show that goods exports in May 2026 were valued at €94.1 million.

This represents a significant year-over-year growth, marking a 15.7 percent increase in exports. Conversely, imports for the month were valued at €638.6 million, reflecting a 5 percent increase over the previous year’s figures. These statistics provide an overview of the trade balance for Kosovo during May 2026.
