Over 900 structures were built without a building permit in 2025

According to the State Statistical Office, 911 instances of illegally constructed structures were registered in 2025. The most prevalent category involved residential use, accounting for 169 of the unauthorized buildings, representing 18.6 percent of the total. This segment further broke down into 128 structures used exclusively for housing, 24 primarily for residential purposes, and 17 designated for entertainment and recreation.

Beyond primary dwellings, the statistics reveal numerous other unauthorized constructions. Fences accounted for 164 units (18 percent), followed by 116 commercial buildings (12.7 percent) and 113 tents (12.4 percent). Further unauthorized additions included 110 extensions, overhauls, and adaptations (12.1 percent), 106 auxiliary buildings (11.6 percent), and 79 garages (8.7 percent).

Smaller categories included 22 summer terraces (2.4 percent), 17 temporary buildings (1.9 percent), 9 staircases (1 percent), and 6 terraces (0.7 percent). In terms of ownership, the vast majority of these illegally constructed buildings were privately owned, constituting 96.1 percent of the total count. The data underscores a widespread pattern of unauthorized development across various building types, with residential structures forming the single largest category by a significant margin.
