US Navy helicopter crashes in Arabian Sea, one soldier missing

A United States Navy MH-60S Seahawk helicopter, assigned to the aircraft carrier USS George HW Bush, made an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea on Wednesday morning, according to the US 5th Fleet. Following the incident, three of the four crew members were successfully rescued and reported to be in stable condition. Search operations are ongoing for the fourth crew member.

The US 5th Fleet has stated that there is currently no indication that the incident involving the navy helicopter was caused by hostile action, and the precise causes of the event remain under investigation. This marks the second recent aviation incident involving a US military helicopter in the region. Previously, on June 9, a separate US Army AH-64 Apache helicopter experienced a crash in the Gulf of Oman.

At that time, US President Donald Trump stated that the aircraft had been shot down by Iranian forces, and that the crew was subsequently rescued by a Corsair unmanned aerial vehicle. The recent sequence of events highlights ongoing operational activity in the area. The investigation into the latest helicopter incident continues to focus on determining the cause of the emergency landing.

Both incidents underscore the operational presence of US military assets in the Arabian Sea region. Authorities are prioritizing the search and recovery efforts for all personnel involved.
