The “Vita” dairy reacts after the inspection: The state was not closed, the decision was yours

Representatives from the Vita dairy confirmed that the decision to temporarily halt operations originated internally with the company, rather than being mandated by regulatory bodies. During a press conference held the day following the announcement of the suspension, the company also requested that the Food and Veterinary Agency (AVUK) promptly release the findings from the recent sample analyses conducted during the last inspection. Artan Spahija, the General Director of the Vita dairy, stated that the facility underwent an urgent inspection on February 2nd, which had been ordered by the Ministry of Agriculture.

He clarified that the subsequent suspension of work was a decision made by the company’s board. Spahija attributed the need for this public statement to an “unfortunate incident” that had occurred at the dairy. The statement emphasized the company’s internal decision-making process regarding the operational pause.

Following the incident, the Vita management indicated a commitment to transparency while awaiting the official results from the AVUK. The company remains focused on addressing the issues identified during the inspection period to facilitate a return to normal operations.
