Suspended sentence for former head of Anti-Corruption, Tatjana Dimitrovska

The Basic Criminal Court in Skopje recently concluded proceedings, issuing verdicts against several individuals regarding allegations of misconduct involving state information. The court found the former head of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption, Tatjana Dimitrovska, guilty of two charges: revealing state secrets and computer forgery. Consequently, Dimitrovska received a one-year suspended imprisonment sentence.

This penalty is contingent upon her not committing any further criminal acts within the next three years. Additionally, the court addressed the case involving auditor Mile Stolevski. Stolevski was found guilty of computer forgery, resulting in him also receiving a suspended sentence of six months.

In a separate development, the third defendant, Biljana Petrovska-Manteva, was acquitted by the court, as the prosecution failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove her guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. The court’s judgment emphasized that the unauthorized disclosure of official information undermines the operational integrity of the State Commission for the Prevention of Corruption and constitutes a breach of official duty. The ruling confirms the legal ramifications associated with the mishandling of sensitive state data.

All parties involved retain the right to appeal the court’s decision to the Court of Appeal, ensuring continued judicial oversight of the proceedings.
