Operator fined 24,000 euros on the Pristina–Podujevë road

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport announced that an economic operator responsible for the Vranidoll segment of the Pristina–Podujevë road was issued a fine of 24,000 euros for non-compliance during September. Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Dimal Basha, confirmed the penalty following a comprehensive re-inspection of the construction site. Minister Basha stated that his review of the major infrastructure project revealed significant lapses in adherence to established timelines.

He noted that since assuming his duties, he had conducted meetings with supervisors and the various economic operators involved in the construction. These discussions addressed critical issues concerning expired deadlines, outdated dynamic work plans, and necessary safety protocols. Following these assessments, the authorities reached an agreement to extend the overall project deadlines.

However, the agreement stipulated immediate operational requirements to ensure traffic flow while construction continues. Specifically, the revised plan mandates that at least one lane of the major road must be immediately released for public circulation. Furthermore, the remaining construction activities along the corridor must be finalized by the end of September.

The directives emphasize that adherence to the revised schedule and safety standards is mandatory for all involved parties. This oversight aims to expedite the completion of the vital Pristina–Podujevë road segment, ensuring that the designated operator meets the renewed performance benchmarks necessary for project continuity.
