Police confirmed on Wednesday that a substantial quantity of confectionery had been stolen from a truck parked near a German motorway. Approximately fifteen tons of the “candy” were taken, according to the statement released by authorities. The driver, a 41-year-old man, left the vehicle unattended for the entire day following its parking at a service station on the motorway, situated near the northern town of Neustadt-Glewe, at around 7:45 am on Tuesday.

He returned at approximately 8:45 pm to discover the container was missing, along with its valuable cargo worth approximately €250,000 (around $288,400). Initially, investigators were unsure of how the perpetrators managed to remove the container from the truck unnoticed during daylight hours. A full investigation has been launched, and police are actively searching for the stolen goods.

The incident occurred near the motorway, and the missing merchandise totals fifteen tons. Authorities are prioritizing the recovery of the stolen confectionery.
