The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo has filed charges against an individual identified by the initials S.S. concerning the alleged crime of “Counterfeiting Currency.” The indictment states that on October 9, 2024, at approximately 3:10 PM, the suspect was apprehended on the Gjilan–Prishtina highway while in possession of counterfeit banknotes. These notes are suspected of having been introduced into the legitimate circulation of the local economy.

Authorities reported that the total value of the seized banknotes amounts to 105,000 euros. Following the apprehension, the Kosovo Agency for Forensics conducted an analysis, which confirmed that all the seized banknotes were indeed counterfeit. The Special Prosecutor’s Office has initiated legal proceedings against S.S.

in connection with these findings. The case is now scheduled to proceed through the standard judicial procedures overseen by the competent authorities. The charges are brought against the individual for the serious offense of counterfeiting currency, involving a significant sum of euros.
