Berjani is proposing a price increase and has written to Kurt, Murat, and Kusari, requesting a temporary suspension of the value-added tax on oil derivatives.

Fadil Berjani, the leading figure in the oil industry, has initiated correspondence with Kurt, Murat, and Kusari. He’s formally requested a short-term halt to Value Added Tax (VAT) on petroleum products. Berjani explained that current market prices are experiencing instability, largely influenced by global developments and forecasts remain unclear.

The retail cost of diesel currently sits between 1.70 and 1.78 euros, while gasoline ranges from 1.30 to 1.42 euros. Wholesale prices have consistently been approximately 1.74 euros. Berjani underscored the urgency of the situation, highlighting the volatility affecting these essential commodities.

Furthermore, berjani has also contacted Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Hekuran Murat, and Mimoza Kusari-Lilës with a similar request. He strongly advocated for a temporary removal of VAT on oil derivatives. Berjani stressed that this intervention would have a significant and immediate effect on consumer prices.

The aim is to stabilize the fluctuating prices and provide greater certainty for consumers and businesses alike.
