The official campaign period for the early election of the Kosovo Parliament has commenced, with the general election day set for September 7. The Central Election Commission has confirmed that over the next ten days in June, twenty-one political entities will conduct their respective election activities throughout the country. Valmir Elezi, a spokesperson for the KQZ, clarified the timeline according to the Law on General Elections.
He noted that, under the law, the election campaign officially concludes with the opening of the polling stations on the designated election day. “For ten consecutive days in June, twenty-one political entities, representing a total of 902 candidates for deputy seats, will be able to conduct their activities as part of the campaign for the early Kosovo Parliament election, which is scheduled for September 7,” Elezi stated. He further referenced the Law on General Elections, which was approved in 2023, governing the electoral process.
This initial phase allows political groups to engage with voters and present their platforms leading up to the vote. The structured nature of the campaign is designed to ensure compliance with electoral law until the final day in September. The focus remains on providing a clear operational framework for the upcoming parliamentary election.
