Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp now offer subscription plans

Meta has announced the worldwide introduction of subscription tiers for its core platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Furthermore, the company indicated that new offerings branded as Meta AI, tailored for users, creators, and businesses, are forthcoming. The new subscription structure includes Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus, both priced at $3.99 per month, alongside WhatsApp Plus, which will cost $2.99 per month.

Meta clarified that these new Plus plans are designed to operate alongside, rather than replace, the existing Meta Verified service. Subscribers to Facebook Plus and Instagram Plus will gain access to several exclusive features. These enhancements include advanced Story insights, the capacity to generate unlimited audience lists beyond the current Close Friends functionality, and the ability to extend the duration of Stories beyond standard limitations.

These plans aim to provide enhanced functionality across Meta’s ecosystem. For Facebook and Instagram users, the plus tiers offer tangible upgrades to the user experience, providing more granular control over content sharing and analytics. WhatsApp users will benefit from the dedicated WhatsApp Plus offering.

The introduction of these multi-tiered plans signals Meta’s continued strategy to monetize its user base through premium services across its major applications.
