Following the Bajram holiday, a notable surge in travel is occurring as Kosovar citizens increasingly utilize Albania as a destination. This significant increase in traffic began early this morning, as reported by Ballina Gazeta Express on March 21, 2026, at 3:02 PM. The weekend period, combined with the Friday Bajram holiday, has substantially amplified the arrival of Kosovar residents within our nation.
Numerous movements commenced as early as the first hours of this morning. Data released by the Kukës Border and Immigration Directorate indicates that over 3,000 individuals and more than 900 smaller vehicles crossed into Albania during the day. This figure excludes organized groups traveling by bus.
A considerable number of travelers also journeyed across the border in the opposite direction, from Albania to Kosovo. However, this flow was notably less pronounced than the movement of Kosovar citizens entering Albania. Motorcycle travelers were also part of this increased activity, contributing to the overall volume of crossings.
