Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party, reacted publicly today via social media after Prime Minister Edi Rama’s podcast. He leveled accusations against Rama, specifically concerning his defense of Member of Parliament Belinda Balluku and the handling of oil prices. Berisha asserted that the Balluku case remains unresolved under Rama’s leadership.
He repeatedly criticized Rama’s attempts to close the matter, stating that the prime minister had consistently acted as Balluku’s legal advocate. “Rama repeatedly tried, at all costs, to be Balluku’s lawyer,” Berisha declared. The opposition leader maintained that the Balluku case would never be definitively closed and that it was fundamentally tied to Edi Rama.
He argued that the issue would only resolve itself with Rama’s departure from office. Berisha highlighted the case’s growing international significance, suggesting that Rama’s efforts were insufficient given the circumstances. “The Balluku case has become an international issue and Edi Rama cannot close it with a handful of bandits in his parliament,” he stated.
Furthermore, Berisha accused Rama of directly implicating himself in the Balluku case, alleging that he was the instigator of her alleged criminal activities. “Edi Rama himself exposed himself in this case and he demonstrated that he is the author of all of Balluku’s criminal acts,” Berisha concluded.
