Heart disease claims twice as many lives among Albanians as within the European Union – mental health issues are also on the rise.

Heart disease fatalities are markedly higher in Albania than across the european union. Recent data highlights a concerning trend, with mental health challenges also increasing. Specifically, cardiovascular illnesses are a dominant cause of deaths in Albania, representing a significant difference compared to other European nations.

Information from INSTAT and Eurostat demonstrates a stark contrast: 52.9% of all deaths within Albania are linked to diseases of the circulatory system. Conversely, this category accounts for only 32.8% of deaths in the european union. This substantial difference reveals that Albanians experience heart-related deaths at nearly double the european average.

The disparity underscores a critical public health concern. Furthermore, while tumors contribute significantly to mortality in Europe, representing 23.9% of deaths, this category constitutes a mere 1% in Albania. This highlights a further divergence in health outcomes between the two regions.

The rising number of deaths related to heart disease represents a serious issue demanding attention and focused preventative measures.
