Joan Laporta expressed joy upon remaining Barcelona’s president: Exciting years lie ahead.

Joan Laporta will remain the president of Barcelona, the reigning champions of Spain. This outcome was determined by club members during Sunday’s elections. The “Defensem el Barça” list garnered 32,934 votes, equating to 68.18% of the total.

This marks Laporta’s fourth term at the helm of the club. Previously, he held the position from 2003 to 2010 and subsequently returned in March 2021, securing 30,184 votes which represented 54.28% of the votes cast. His challenger, Víctor Font, received 14,385 votes, representing 29.78% of the votes.

A further 984 votes were marked as blank, accounting for 2.04% of the total. Following the announcement of the election results, Laporta expressed confidence in the club’s future. He stated that the substantial vote count provides considerable power to Barcelona.

“We are now unstoppable. We anticipate thrilling years ahead, and these will undoubtedly be the most successful times for the club. It’s a fantastic organization where members choose their president.”
