North Macedonia possesses oil reserves sufficient for sixty days! The government’s “momentum” is anticipated for oil extraction.

North Macedonia holds significant oil reserves, enough to supply the country for sixty days. The government’s recent initiative aims to ensure the circulation of fuel throughout the nation. Gazeta Express reported on March 16, 2026, at 3:52 PM, detailing this strategic move.

The majority of the country’s state oil reserves are currently stored within the facilities of four domestic companies. Smaller quantities are maintained in state-owned storage tanks. These companies – Okta, Makpetrol, Lukoil, and Supertrade – are responsible for holding these reserves and receive compensation for their service, as reported by Gazeta Express through TV21.

Specifically, the North’s oil reserves consist of the following derivatives: Eurodiesel at -138.9 million liters, Gasoline (Eurosuper 95) at -32.1 million liters, Extra Light Marine Diesel Oil (EL-1) at -10.8 million liters, and Fuel M-1 at -5.3 million kilograms. Crucially, these companies are legally bound to make these oil derivatives available to the state government at any time, should the government decide to implement an intervention strategy. This ensures a readily accessible supply of fuel for the country.
