Police seize weapons in Prizren, two people arrested

The Kosovo Police have reported conducting operations in Prizren, resulting in the seizure of weapons during two separate incidents over the course of the month. According to reports, the police intervened on May 25th and May 27th, taking action to prevent the unauthorized use of firearms and maintain public safety within the area. During these operations, police recovered a total of two firearms.

The initial incident, which took place on May 25, 2026, at approximately 11:20 PM, occurred in the village of Lubizhdë e Hasit following a report related to a shooting. The subsequent incident on May 27th also contributed to the police’s efforts to secure weapons in the region. In connection with these two separate events, the police announced that two individuals were subsequently arrested.

These two persons were detained for a period of 48 hours while investigations proceeded. The police emphasized that these actions were taken to ensure adherence to local laws and public order in Prizren. The department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the seizures and the arrests to prevent further misuse of weapons in the community.
