The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, alongside the Agency for Food and Veterinary Affairs (AUV), has issued a notification concerning a potential food safety issue. Through the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF), a notification number 2026.1018, classified as an “Alert notification,” has been formally accepted. This relates to the detection of cereulide toxin within the infant formula, specifically Nutricia Cuijk B.V.’s product manufactured in the Netherlands.
The alert was swiftly disseminated by relevant EU authorities via the RASFF system to all countries where the affected product has been made available. This includes the Republic of Kosovo. Subsequent laboratory investigations, carried out by competent EU bodies, confirmed the presence of the toxin in particular batches of the APTAMIL infant formula.
These findings demonstrate that certain batches of the APTAMIL product exceeded established safety standards. The AUV, working in conjunction with the Ministry, is taking this notification seriously and coordinating efforts to ensure consumer safety. The distribution of the alert allows for swift action and monitoring across all impacted regions.
