During a Socialist Party Assembly meeting, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced a concerning forecast regarding fuel prices. He stated that the price is expected to continue rising.
Rama declared that if the price exceeds 220 lek, a 20% reduction in fuel excise tax will be implemented. “The fuel price is not only rising but is also forecast to continue increasing,” Rama emphasized during the Socialist Party Assembly meeting. Consequently, the government has activated the transparency board, a mechanism previously utilized.
Furthermore, a decision has been made: for each day the price breaches the 220 lek ceiling, a 20% reduction in fuel excise tax will be enacted. This proactive measure aims to mitigate the impact of escalating fuel costs. Prime Minister Rama’s comments underscore the government’s commitment to addressing the rising fuel price and ensuring consumer protection.
