Another institution has joined Mickoski’s business network within the energy sector: the Energy Regulatory Commission. Mickoski has appointed Aco Ristov to lead this crucial body. The Energy Regulatory Commission is responsible for all decisions concerning electricity prices, fuels, and energy sources.
Aco Ristov’s background is noteworthy. He previously served as the mayor of Radovish, affiliated with OBRM-PDUKM. Furthermore, he is the husband of judge Danka Ristova, who was previously elected as a member of the Judicial Council.
Crucially, Ristov is also an energy sector businessman, possessing hydropower plants. As stated by Jon Frçkoski – a member of the Executive Board of LSDM – “as owner of a business that produces energy and receives fees from the state, Aco Ristov now must make decisions in the energy sector.” This appointment raises concerns about potential conflicts of interest given Mickoski’s own involvement in the energy industry.
