Sixty drivers were arrested for violating traffic regulations.

Over the recent weekend, spanning March 20th through 22nd, 2026, a nationwide operation led to significant traffic enforcement activity. Police officers from all internal affairs sectors carried out routine traffic checks, resulting in a substantial number of warrants being executed. A total of 1699 warrants were issued, with a significant portion directly addressing drivers who had violated speed restrictions.

Specifically, 476 warrants concerned individuals who had disregarded the established speed limits. Sixty individuals were stopped for offenses related to reckless driving. Furthermore, eleven drivers were apprehended for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

Seventeen individuals were stopped for driving without possessing a valid license. Six drivers faced action due to prior driving prohibition orders, and one driver was stopped for traveling in the opposite direction of traffic. During this period of heightened enforcement, twenty vehicles were seized under Article 300-b of the Criminal Code.

The operation highlighted the importance of safe driving practices and the ongoing efforts to ensure road safety. These actions targeted drivers who posed a risk to themselves and others on the roadways.
