Special circulation regime in Skopje tomorrow

On Friday, May 29, 2026, the Unit for Road Communication Security has announced the implementation of special traffic regulations throughout Skopje. These measures are in place to manage vehicular movement and ensure safe and uninterrupted circulation due to the observance of the religious holiday, “All Souls’ Day.”

The restrictions will primarily affect the area surrounding the Skopje Police Department and the city cemetery, ‘Butel.’ Commencing at 6:00 AM, access to the ‘Butel’ cemetery will be restricted to a mandatory one-way, circular route. For vehicles entering the cemetery grounds, drivers must follow a specific itinerary: proceeding along ‘Butelska’ street, turning left onto ‘Aleksandar Urdarevski’ street, then turning left again onto ‘Boca Ivanova’ street.

Circulation must continue right until reaching the main entrance of the ‘Butel’ cemetery. Conversely, the exit route requires drivers to proceed right on ‘Boca Ivanova’ street until they reach the roundabout located on ‘Butelska’ street. From the roundabout, vehicles should turn left, continuing on ‘Butelska’ street before making a final right turn to exit the designated area.

Authorities have issued these special guidelines to manage the expected increase in pedestrian and vehicular traffic associated with the holiday. All motorists are advised to adhere strictly to these revised routes to facilitate smooth circulation within the Skopje area.
