The Municipality of Decan, partnering with the Kosovo Ski Federation, has launched the “Great Eagles 2026” ski race. This exciting sporting event is designed to highlight winter sports and showcase the stunning landscapes of the Decan mountains. It brought together skiers and passionate individuals from numerous nations, fostering a dynamic and promotional environment for winter tourism within the area.
Thirty-six participants took part in the official race, encompassing a range of age categories from U8 to U30. The competition provided a valuable platform for aspiring athletes and enthusiasts alike. Mayor Bashkim Ramosaj, speaking to KosovaPress, emphasized the exceptional advantages offered by the “Great Eagle” initiative.
He stated that the event presents significant opportunities for both sport and tourism development, alongside tangible economic gains. Previously, the municipality focused on promoting Great Belog, but this year’s focus is on “Great Eagle,” a key location within the Albanian Alps and the territory of the Decan municipality. The ski race aims to further establish Decan as a premier destination for winter activities.
