The “Brezovica” case requires pre-trial detention for the individual who assaulted a cooperating witness.

The Basic State Prosecution in Ferizaj has formally requested the Basic Court in Peja to order pre-trial detention for R.K., a suspect originating from the Skenderaj region. This request stems from serious suspicions of committing criminal offenses, specifically “Intimidation during legal proceedings” and “Unauthorized possession, control, or ownership of firearms.”

According to a published statement, the alleged incident transpired on March 21st at a restaurant in Fushe Kosove. The suspect admitted to having intimidated a witness involved in the “Brezovica” case, stating, “I was only with my children and I did not observe the event.”

Investigators believe that on March 21, 2026, at the “Mero” restaurant in Uglar village, Fushe Kosove, R.K.

harbored a deliberate intention to inflict harm upon witness A.Q. There is a justifiable basis for believing that he seriously intended to injure the witness during this time. The prosecution’s application seeks a period of pre-trial detention to ensure the suspect’s presence throughout the legal process and to prevent any potential attempts to obstruct justice.

The court will now consider the evidence and determine whether to grant the request for pre-trial detention.
