The court has once again sentenced Bekim Haxhiu, the owner of “Besa Trans.” This conclusion to the trial, as reported by Lajme Gazeta Express on March 23, 2026, at 12:46, aligns with reports from Alsat.mk. The Skopje Criminal Court determined that Haxhiu was guilty a second time for the deliberate falsification of the bus’s license certificate. Consequently, he received a sentence of 20 months imprisonment.
Simultaneously, the company was mandated to pay a fine of 800,000 denars. It’s important to note that this legal action doesn’t concern the tragic accident that occurred in Bulgaria in November 2021. Instead, it relates to the fraudulent alteration of the license certificate for the bus involved in that devastating event, where 45 individuals perished and seven others sustained injuries.
Similar to the initial trial, the involved parties maintained their established stances. The prosecution ultimately advocated for Haxhiu’s sentencing and the penalties for “Besa Trans,” emphasizing the bus’s unauthorized operation.
