The Israeli minister stated: We will occupy a part of Southern Lebanon.

Israel has announced intentions to control substantial areas of southern lebanon, creating a “security zone” as part of its ongoing struggle against Hezbollah militants supported by Iran. Defense Minister Israel Katz affirmed that no residential properties or inhabitants would be allowed within the designated zone, which stretches to the Litani River. He characterized the region as experiencing “terrorist activity,” a direct reference to Hezbollah combatants.

These fighters have been responsible for drawing lebanon into the broader US-Israel conflict concerning Iran, consistently launching daily attacks with rockets and drones aimed at Israel. The situation escalated significantly following initial incursions. Israel Katz announced the military’s efforts to “secure remaining bridges and the security zone up to the Litani.”

Reports suggest that Israeli forces have already demolished five bridges spanning the river since March 13th.

The operation aims to disrupt Hezbollah’s capabilities. Minister Katz’s statement underscores israel’s determination to address the threat emanating from lebanon. Regarding potential diplomatic avenues, questions have arisen about Pakistan’s suitability as a location for discussions between Iran and the United States.
