The Municipality of Shtime recently observed the 27th anniversary of the passing of martyrs Përparim Boshnjaku and Sokol Dauti. The municipality emphasized that both individuals remain significant symbols of courage, sacrifice, and devotion to the homeland. In a statement released on May 28, 2026, the Municipality detailed the contributions of Boshnjaku and Dauti.
It noted that both men, motivated by the pursuit of freedom and national liberation, enlisted with the Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK). The statement described their service as a period where they fought “with bravery and determination” to defend the populace and the future of Kosovo. According to the Municipality, during periods of severe difficulty for Kosovo, Boshnjaku and Dauti “did not spare their lives for the ideal of freedom.” Furthermore, the statement asserted that their actions and sacrifices form a crucial component of the nation’s historical narrative.
The municipality acknowledged that their sacrifices, alongside those of all other martyrs, represent a vital chapter in the country’s history.
