The Pentagon released a statement confirming the identities of the KC-135 pilots involved. These brave men and women were: John Klinner, 33, hailing from Alabama; Ariana Savino, 31, representing Washington; Ashley Pruitt, 34, from Kentucky; Seth Koval, 38, originating from Indiana; Curtis Angst, 30, representing Ohio; and Tyler Simmons, 28, also a resident of Ohio.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are now clear. Three of the deceased were serving within the Air Force, while the other three were members of the National Guard. Initial investigations by the united states military have ruled out both enemy and friendly fire as factors in the aircraft’s unfortunate descent in western iraq.
