Who is the police officer arrested and his suspected colleagues in the case of the cigarette packs worth 30 thousand euros

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) has initiated a temporary 72-hour suspension against five police officers. These individuals – Fatmir Uka, Arianit Çitaku, Jeton Ibrahimi, Kastriot Syla, and Alban Sahiti – are all members of the Rapid Response Unit within the Border Department. This action follows a report issued by the IPK, detailing a prosecutor’s decision regarding the officers.

The report specifies that one of the five police officers has been arrested, while the remaining four will undergo standard investigative procedures. Specifically, according to the decision of the Basic State Prosecution in Mitrovica, police officer Fatmir Uka has been detained for a period of 48 hours. The investigation into the other four officers is proceeding through regular channels.

During the incident, 24 packs of cigarettes were seized, contributing to the arrest of one of the officers and prompting the IPK to recommend the suspension of the other four police officers involved.
