Stankoviq: A chemical site that is not far from Makedonia, the oil wells are being drilled in the area

Members of the OBRM-PDUKM coalition, including Malisha Stankoviq, stated that the current crisis stems from a global issue and that oil prices are experiencing a short-term decline, with a projected increase in the long term. Stankoviq commented on the Top Tema channel, asserting that the government’s assessment was not necessarily flawed. “Global oil prices have risen by over 10 percent if not for intervention through reduced excise taxes; the price would have been significantly higher,” she explained.

She emphasized that this represents a global crisis independent of any single nation. Despite this broader context, Stankoviq noted that North Macedonia currently maintains some of the lowest fuel prices within the region. The coalition’s position highlights the interplay of international market forces and domestic policy regarding fuel costs.
