Kosovo Police Report Multiple Domestic Violence Cases in Recent Period

The Kosovo Police has reported several cases of domestic violence occurring across the country over the past 24 hours. The incidents were concentrated in the municipalities of Pristina, Kosovan, and Gjakova. Authorities are actively investigating these reported cases of violence.

On April 17, 2026, at 20:30 in Pristina, a Kosovo female victim experienced violence perpetrated by a Kosovo male she was in a romantic relationship with. Following preliminary questioning of all involved parties, the prosecutor’s office initiated a standard investigation procedure. In a separate incident, on April 17, 2026, at 18:00 in Decan, a Kosovo female victim was removed from her residence by her husband, the suspect Kosovo male.

No arrests were made, and the prosecutor was informed of the situation. Finally, at 19:45 on April 17, 2026, in Gjakova, a Kosovo female victim sustained physical injuries as a result of an assault by her husband, the suspect Kosovo male. The Kosovo Police continues to investigate these reported cases of domestic violence, working in conjunction with the prosecutor’s office to ensure appropriate action is taken.

These incidents highlight ongoing concerns regarding violence within the country.
