President Donald Trump asserted that the U.S. military possesses a “humane history” regarding attacks on American aircraft within Iran. Speaking on the matter, Trump stated, “It was a difficult decision to take, ‘nuk lënë asnjë amerikan pas’ – ‘no one American left behind.’”
He acknowledged the inherent risk involved, noting, “It’s a dangerous decision because we could have ended up with 100 dead instead of one or two.” Trump indicated that rescue teams were operating under intense pressure, with a helicopter currently “under fire.”
Addressing the Iranian government, Trump stated, “Nuk mund t’u japësh armë bërthamore të çmendurve” – “You cannot give crazy Trump nuclear weapons.”
Trump revealed that one U.S.
service member sustained “serious injuries” and remained stranded in an area surrounded by members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. He described the situation as providing a “significant stimulus” to those trapped inside Iran.
