Sabotage and pretending in Serbia is not a political issue in Hungary

Serbia Investigates Alleged Sabotage Attempt Targeting Turkish-European Gas Pipeline

April 7, 2026 – Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban is seeking information from Serbia regarding alleged plans to sabotage the Turkish Stream pipeline, which delivers Russian gas to Hungary. Radio Free Europe reported Orban’s statement on April 6th during the pipeline’s Hungarian inauguration. Orban stated he is awaiting factual information from Serbian authorities.

He noted that Ukrainian entities possess the capability to carry out such an act, but declined to confirm whether they were responsible. Following claims made by Serbian authorities on April 5th, involving the discovery of explosives near the pipeline, Belgrade dismissed any involvement of Ukraine. The Turkish Stream pipeline transports Russian gas to Hungary via Turkey, Bulgaria, and other countries.

The investigation is ongoing as authorities assess the potential implications of the alleged sabotage attempt.
