Tetovo Municipality Secures Agreement for Stray Animal Shelter, Despite Ongoing Presence
The Tetovo Municipality has secured a preliminary agreement with an operator for the treatment of stray animals, according to reports from Gazeta Express. However, stray animals continue to be a frequent sight throughout the city of Tetovo. Gazeta Koha reports that the planned regional animal shelter, intended for both stray and domestic animals, has not yet been constructed due to a lack of a designated location.
Initially slated for construction in the Pollog region, the shelter’s development was halted after the Bërvenica Municipality denied permission. Later proposals suggested the shelter could be built within the Vrapisht Municipality, but after more than four years, no progress has been made. The municipality currently holds a contract with an operator for stray animal treatment, but the construction of a dedicated shelter remains unresolved.
