Shkup Airport Seizes Large Quantity of Unlicensed Jewelry and Tattoo Equipment
Shkup, North Macedonia – Authorities at Skopje International Airport seized 1,463 pieces of titanium rings and tattoo equipment on April 7, 2026. According to a statement from the Customs Directorate, the merchandise was confiscated from a Spanish national traveling to Cyprus. The individual, traveling on a flight from Stockholm to Skopje, was apprehended attempting to import the items without the necessary permits.
The seizure included 32 pairs of titanium pliers and 70 sets of tattoo needles, all of which require specific authorization for import from the relevant authorities. Customs officials initiated a formal investigation and confiscated the undeclared goods. Legal proceedings have been opened against the individual responsible for the violation.
