Vjosa Osmani, former President of Kosovo, discussed her relationship with Prime Minister Albin Kurti in an interview on T7’s “Pressing” program. Following the completion of her term as president, Osmani reflected on her support for Kurti during periods of political challenge. Osmani stated that she defended Kurti when many others were opposed to him and sought to remove him from office.
She highlighted a shift in dynamics, asserting that Kurti subsequently dismissed her ambitions to return to the presidency as widespread support for her candidacy emerged. “I defended Prime Minister Kurti when everyone was against him, when everyone wanted to overthrow him, and he dismissed me when everyone wanted me as president,” Osmani explained. “Do you see the difference here?”
The interview centered on a perceived contrast between Osmani’s initial defense of Kurti amidst opposition and Kurti’s later actions regarding her own presidential aspirations.
The conversation focused on the evolving political landscape and the shifting alliances within Kosovo’s leadership.
