Man Faces Deportation After Reckless Driving Leads to Fatal Accident

A 28-year-old Kosovar man will serve five years in prison and be deported following a fatal accident in Germany. The individual, identified as a resident of Duisburg, was involved in a collision on Easter Sunday, April 2019, in Moers. According to reports, the man was driving a high-performance sports car with 612 horsepower at an estimated 167 kilometers per hour in a zone restricted to 50 kilometers per hour.

The collision resulted in the death of a 43-year-old woman approximately 40 hours later. The Administrative Court of Düsseldorf has upheld the order for his deportation. The man, previously convicted in 2023 for an illegal and fatal street race, will serve his sentence in a German prison.

Following completion of his prison term, he will be deported to Kosovo. The court rejected his appeal against a deportation order issued by the city of Duisburg. Authorities determined that the reckless driving contributed directly to the woman’s death.
