Behrami: The Special Court is deviating from the arrest warrant, Trendafilova called for questioning.

Kosovo MP Voices Concerns Over Special Court Operations

Pristina, Kosovo – Artan Behrami, a Member of Parliament for the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK), has formally expressed reservations about the operations of the Special Court for Kosovo. The concerns were communicated to the Kosovar Assembly following a recent communication received by the legislative body. Behrami’s criticism centers on what he perceives as a departure from the Special Court’s defined mandate.

He referenced previous concerns raised by the Assembly regarding the rights of former Kosovo Liberation Army (UÇK) commanders currently detained in The Hague. According to Behrami, the Special Court’s initial response to these concerns was deemed insufficient and failed to adequately address the issues. “The Assembly received an unanswered letter from the Special Court’s head,” Behrami stated.

He asserted that the court is operating outside the parameters established by the Kosovar Assembly. The statement highlights ongoing tensions between the judicial body and the elected representatives of the Kosovar people, particularly regarding the legal treatment of individuals associated with the UÇK. Further details regarding the specific concerns raised by the Assembly are expected to be discussed in upcoming parliamentary sessions.
