Ruling Announced in Banjska Armed Attack Case
A court ruling was announced on April 24th concerning the Banjska incident. The Basic Court in Pristina is scheduled to deliver a verdict against three defendants implicated in the armed attack against the Kosovo Police that occurred in Banjska, Zvečan, in September 2023. The announcement of the ruling session is set to begin at 15:00, as confirmed by the Basic Court in Pristina to Radio Free Europe.
The Special Prosecutor’s Office of Kosovo had previously requested a life sentence for Vladimir Tolliqi, Blagoje Spasojevic, and Dushan Maksimovic. All three defendants have denied the charges. The incident took place on September 24, 2023, when a group of armed Serbian individuals attacked Kosovo Police personnel.
During the exchange of fire, Kosovo Police officer Afrim Bunjaku was killed. Three Serbian attackers were also killed in the confrontation. The case remains a significant event following the April announcement and the ongoing legal proceedings.
