ASH: Even after two years in power, VLEN still has not succeeded in securing an Albanian deputy director at ASHMAA.

Opposition Criticizes VLEN’s Lack of Progress on Albanian Representation at Media Agency

Despite being in power for two years, the VLEN party has yet to appoint a substitute director of Albanian origin to the “Agency for Audio and Audiovisual Media Services,” according to a statement released by Alençës për Shqiptarët. The opposition party asserts this inaction demonstrates a significant inability and political manipulation. The statement highlights a perceived failure to deliver on previously promised changes.

Alençës për Shqiptarët argues that the VLEN administration has not achieved tangible progress regarding the Albanian language, recruitment, or steps towards Eurointegration. “Dignity was promised, representation was promised, changes were promised,” the statement reads. “What have you actually brought?

No progress in the implementation of the Albanian language, no results in hiring, no steps towards Eurointegration.”

The opposition further contends that a portion of the VLEN leadership, now presented as “change,” has a longstanding history of involvement within established political structures, having been part of power for 25 years. Consequently, the party expresses a lack of trust in the VLEN’s justifications and political rhetoric. The statement concludes by asserting that the VLEN’s continued tenure demands accountability for past and present shortcomings.
