Klekovski: Three doctors generated 25,000 euros for the budget, were paid more than necessary.

Doctors Return Over €25,000 to Public Health Budget

Health officials announced today that three doctors have returned a total of 1.5 million denars (approximately €25,000) to public health institutions where they are employed. The return of funds stems from discrepancies identified in salary accounting and overpayments made to the doctors. Sasho Klekovski, director of the Health Insurance Fund, confirmed the findings and stated that the names of the involved doctors and specific institutions remain undisclosed.

Klekovski emphasized the ongoing efforts to ensure proper management of resources within the health sector. “Our activity includes both medical and financial controls,” Klekovski explained. “We are actively communicating these identified issues to key stakeholders, including public health institutions, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Finance, and the State Audit Office.

We maintain excellent collaborative relationships with all these entities.”

The Health Insurance Fund continues to conduct these audits as part of its commitment to transparency and accountability within the public health system. Klekovski reiterated the focus on robust financial oversight to safeguard resources allocated to health services.
