The return of the Ottoman in the LDK will increase the electorate, Krasniqi: It would force the parties to agree.

Political Calculations Driving Presidential Election Timeline, Says Expert

Professor Kolë Krasniqi has suggested that the current political climate surrounding the upcoming presidential election and the approaching constitutional deadline are being shaped by political calculations undertaken by various parties. Speaking on the FIVE program, Krasniqi addressed the relationship between the LDK and potential presidential candidates. He stated that while he does not believe former President Vjosa Osmani is directly influencing the LDK’s support for another candidate, a broader political interest is undoubtedly playing a significant role in the decision-making process.

“I don’t believe that former President Osmani is influencing the LDK to back another presidential candidate,” Krasniqi explained. Following Osmani’s withdrawal from cooperation with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, there has been a noticeable increase in support for her position. Krasniqi indicated that this shift could potentially impact the outcome of future elections.

Krasniqi emphasized the importance of recognizing this wider political landscape, stating it’s “generally seen as a political interest, all-encompassing or neutral.” The expert’s comments reflect ongoing analysis of the complex dynamics within Kosovo’s political sphere, particularly concerning the LDK’s role in the presidential race.
