Official: Trainer Rosenior dismissed after 106 days

Chelsea Appoints Interim Head Coach Following Rosenior Sacking

Chelsea Football Club has announced the termination of head coach Liam Rosenior’s contract following a 3-0 defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion on Tuesday evening. The decision comes after a sustained period of poor performance, marking the end of Rosenior’s tenure with the club. Rosenior was appointed as Chelsea’s head coach approximately six and a half months ago, taking over following the departure of Enzo Maresca.

The club expressed gratitude for Rosenior’s efforts during his time in charge. “Chelsea Football Club has today terminated the contract with head coach Liam Rosenior. On behalf of everyone at Chelsea FC, we wish to formally express our gratitude to Liam and his staff for their efforts during their time with the club.”

The defeat to Brighton compounded a troubling run for Chelsea, resulting in a fifth consecutive loss in the Premier League.

Notably, the team had gone five games without scoring, a worst league record in 114 years. This sequence of results has established a new, historically poor record for Chelsea in English football. Club officials highlighted Rosenior’s “integrity and professionalism.” The club is now actively seeking a new permanent head coach.

After the appointment, Chelsea will begin the process of identifying a suitable candidate to lead the team moving forward.
