Vuçiq requests Hagë’s release of criminal Mlladiq

Serbian President Vučić Comments on Ratko Mladić’s Deteriorating Health

Belgrade, Serbia – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has stated that the health condition of Ratko Mladić, currently serving a sentence at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague for war crimes in Bosnia and Herzegovina, is critically poor. Justice Minister Nenad Vujiq has informed the President of Mladić’s severely diminished state. According to Vučić’s statement to reporters in Belgrade, Mladić’s condition is “very serious,” with the former commander now unable to sit and requiring hospitalization while in a prone position.

He is reportedly responding only briefly. “I have been informed by Justice Minister Nenad Vujiq that his condition is very serious,” Vučić said. “He has been unable to sit down, has been sent to the hospital in a lying position, and has been in a state of only short responses.”

Vučić expressed frustration regarding the circumstances surrounding Mladić’s care, stating he doesn’t understand why the individual isn’t permitted to spend his final days outside of prison.

“But am I surprised? No,” he added. Ratko Mladić remains a highly recognizable figure associated with the conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The focus remains on his current health and the ongoing legal proceedings.
