Janevska announces another scandal in education: The public will be surprised.

Macedonia Investigates Faculty Irregularities, Minister Janevska Signals Further Concerns

Skopje – Education and Science Minister Vesna Janevska addressed concerns surrounding recent irregularities at the Faculty of Philosophy of UKM today, stating that “We will soon hear about another irregularity, much larger than this one, which will affect public opinion in Macedonia.” The comments follow an investigation into practices where students have illegally registered for one-year master’s and doctoral studies since 2019, despite holding three-year professional undergraduate degrees. The investigation centers on seven individuals registered for the master’s program and four in doctoral studies. Minister Janevska emphasized that the issue pertains to specific institutions and that authorities are committed to addressing it according to legal procedures.

“There are irregularities in certain institutions, not in all of them, and these will be addressed according to the law,” she stated. Janevska indicated that potential responsibility will be determined by relevant authorities, specifically examining the roles of the administration and any student involvement in the actions. The minister’s remarks suggest a broader scope of potential issues within Macedonian educational institutions.

Further investigation is underway, and officials anticipate additional findings will be revealed.
