The “Clueless” project halted at Peacock, but the project still seeks a new home.

“Clueless” Revival Project Shelved by Peacock

Following a year of development, the television revival of the 1995 film “Clueless,” starring Alicia Silverstone, not will continue on the Peacock platform. According to reports from Variety, the streaming service has made the decision to discontinue the project. Despite initial progress, Peacock has determined not to move forward with the series, which was intended to refocus on the iconic character Cher Horowitz.

Alicia Silverstone herself was involved as an executive producer, alongside established creative figures including director Amy Heckerling, producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. While Peacock has ended its involvement, the revival project has not been completely abandoned. CBS Studios and Paramount are reportedly still maintaining interest in the concept.

Silverstone previously expressed enthusiasm for the return of her character, stating, “It’s a really exciting opportunity.” The planned series aimed to capture the spirit of the original film while introducing a new generation to Cher Horowitz and her world. Further updates on the status of the project are anticipated as other studios explore potential avenues for development.
