United States Offers $10 Million Reward for Information on Iraqi Militia Leader

The United States government is offering a reward of up to $10 million for information leading to the apprehension of Hashim Finyan Rahim al-Saraji, the leader of the Iraqi Shiite militia, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS). The announcement, made through the “Rewards for Justice” program, follows the designation of KSS as a terrorist organization by the U.S. Department of State.

The individual of interest is believed to be responsible for actions undertaken by KSS, which is supported by Iran. According to the Department of State, members of the group have been implicated in a series of attacks. These include the killing of Iraqi civilians and assaults on American diplomatic missions located within Iraq, alongside attacks targeting U.S.

military bases and personnel operating in both Iraq and Syria. “This initiative aims to disrupt the activities of KSS and contribute to reducing violence and attacks against U.S. interests,” a statement on the X platform read.
