Two Men Sentenced to Life in Banjska Terror Attack
The Basic Court of Pristina today delivered final judgments in the case concerning the September 24, 2023, attack in Banjska, Zvečan. Blagoje Spasojevic and Vladimir Tolliqi have been sentenced to life imprisonment following their conviction for involvement in the incident. Dushan Maksimovic received a 30-year prison sentence related to the same attack.
The verdicts stem from the attack that resulted in the death of Kosovo police officer Afrim Bunjaku and injuries to three other officers. The attack occurred in the village of Banjska. A KosovoPress team documented the proceedings, including a visit with the family of Afrim Bunjaku in Samadregjë, Vushtri.
The family was present throughout the trial. Following the announcement of the sentences, the mother of Afrim Bunjaku, Fegjrie Behrami, voiced her dissatisfaction with the punishments handed down to the accused. She stated that a more severe penalty was warranted.
The court’s decision marks a significant step in the legal process following the Banjska attack and the loss of life of officer Bunjaku. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack are ongoing.
