“Why doesn’t he take the initiative and dismiss the case?” Musliu-Sheshi replies to Kurtin about Speciale.

Kosovo Government Reaffirms Concerns Regarding Specialized Chambers

Prime Minister Albin Kurti addressed concerns surrounding the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo following a question raised by PDK deputy Ariana Musliu Shoshi. The discussion centered on reported human rights violations within the chambers’ proceedings. Kurti stated that the Government of the Republic of Kosovo takes all concerns related to the respect of human rights seriously, including those pertaining to the Specialized Chambers.

He emphasized the ongoing and structured communication between Kosovo’s institutions and international partners. This communication is designed to be responsible and aligned with the sensitive nature of the judicial processes underway. Specifically, the government has not hesitated to voice objections to rulings made by the chambers.

These objections relate to decisions concerning leaders of the UÇK. “The Government of the Republic of Kosovo treats any concern related to the respect of human rights seriously, including the Specialized Chambers of Kosovo,” Kurti said. Institutional dialogue with international partners is continuous and conducted with careful consideration for the complexities of the legal proceedings within the chambers.

Deputy Ariana Musliu’s inquiry highlighted a key area of government focus.
